As a child growing up in Wisconsin, I developed a passion for food and cooking. My Grandmother worked as a baker, and we would spend many afternoons together letting me help her in the kitchen. Once I was older I would often volunteer to cook dinner for my family, and loved to experiment and create different dishes. I graduated from high school and decided to go to college to become an elementary school teacher, instead of following my passion for cooking.
After coming to the conclusion that teaching wasn’t for me, I took a risk and quit college and traveled west to the great state of Arizona. There I attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute where I enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. During school I got to study under many talented and passionate chefs, they taught me that good food needs to start with good ingredients. If you want the best outcome you have to put the best in. I follow that motto through life as it can apply to many things.
I graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu program in early 2008. I completed an externship at Santa Barbara catering company, and shortly after married my husband. Two months after giving birth to our daughter, we moved to the beautiful gulf coast to Sarasota, FL. With its jaw dropping beaches and tropical like weather, it’s not a hard place to fall in love with. Through the years that we have lived here we have discovered some great restaurants, with chefs that cook with passion and love for the art of food. I love to share these places with friends and family and enjoy each other’s company. I can’t wait to have the opportunity to show you around the place I now call home, and share with you these great restaurants with delicious dishes that make your taste buds sing.
